Regalbuto Heritage is a project that brings together digital innovation, education, and collaboration. The app provides a fresh way to explore and experience Regalbuto’s historical and natural heritage.
The project was developed by a team led by Dario Piazza, with support from Dennis Angemi, who curated the audio and visual content. Today, the app offers an immersive digital tourism experience of Regalbuto.
An immersive virtual tour
Thanks to aerial drone footage, panoramic views in 360° , and immersive photos, the app takes visitors on a full virtual tour. Highlights include Monte San Calogero, the historic center, and the scenic Lago Pozzillo.
These features create a dynamic experience and offer a fresh perspective on the town’s landmarks.
Audio guide for an accessible tourism experience
The app also features atourist audio guide, making visits more engaging and accessible. Each stop offers stories about Regalbuto’s history, churches, and most iconic monuments.
This makes the app valuable not just for tourists, but also for students and locals eager to explore and understand their own community.
A hands-on, collaborative learning space
Regalbuto Heritage was more than a tech project — it was a educational and collaborative workshop. Every participant brought their skills and creativity, working together toward a shared goal.
The project aimed to showcase cultural heritage using innovative digital tools while fostering a participatory approach that united people of different generations and expertise.
Part of a project to promote and develop the region
The app is part of a larger project to redevelop and reconnect theMonte San Calogero – Historic Center – Lago Pozzillo tourist route..
This initiative, promoted by the Municipality of Regalbuto under the GAL Rocca di Cerere Public Call (Action PAL 1.2.2, Sub-measure 7.5a), aims to support investments in public access, tourist information, and small-scale infrastructure.
Where to get Regalbuto Heritage
The app is already available on Google Play Store (Android) and as a web version for iOS. Furthermore, it will soon be downloadable from theApple App Store. This will make the experience even more accessible for iPhone and iPad users.
